East Irondequoit CSD: 2019 Capital Improvements Project

Helendale Road Primary School within East Irondequoit Central School District has been long overdue for a facelift since its conception.

The District continues to move towards the future of classroom design, which incorporates modernized space and furniture design and where technology plays a primary role in daily education regardless of grade level. To help meet the District’s vision, LaBella has worked to design a new library addition to Helendale Road to promote contemporary instruction for students through modern design space and aesthetic.

The library provides dedicated makerspace classroom areas directly adjacent to the open and airy main library volume with small, dedicated learning nooks throughout the space. The general design aesthetic plays on primary level students with bright colors and playful shapes in acoustical clouds and high-performing silkscreen patterns on the exterior glazing.
