Over 3,500 cans of beans, corn, and tomatoes will be donated to Foodlink.
For the 15th year in a row, LaBella’s Rochester office was summoned into the winner’s circle at the 2024 CANstruction Rochester competition and donated over 3,500 canned food items to Foodlink!
This year’s theme, PumpCANS, Witches, and Ghostly Goods, led to an amazing array of Halloween-themed sculptures from all the participating teams. LaBella’s team took their inspiration from the classic Halloween movie “Beetlejuice” for this year’s design. The team worked diligently to design and build the infamous sandworm—or should we say CANworm—out of 3,500 cans of beans, corn, and tomatoes.
The exhibit was on display from October 13th through November 3rd at the Strong Museum of Play, where visitors viewed and voted on the structures. Teams were judged on Best Use of Labels, Structural Ingenuity, Best Meal, Jurors’ Favorite, and People’s Choice.
LaBella’s structure received the Structural Ingenuity Award for utilizing engineering and architectural principles to overcome design challenges. Congratulations to the entire team!
