LaBella’s Public Venues Practice Leader Cristian Petschen will be participating in a panel discussion at the British-American Business Network’s (BABN) 2025 Transatlantic Conference, taking place April 30-May 2, 2025, in Charlotte, North Carolina.

The BABN is the largest transatlantic business network, uniting more than 2,000 member companies across 20 chapters in North America and the United Kingdom (U.K.). Its mission is to foster innovation, collaboration, and growth by providing businesses of all sizes with the connections, content, and opportunities needed to succeed globally.

On Thursday, May 1 at 1 p.m., Cristian will join the panel discussion titled “What’s the Score? The Business of Sports as an Economic Driver.” This session will explore how the sports industry acts as a powerful engine for economic growth—from capital investment and advanced technologies to job creation and health benefits. It will also highlight transatlantic trade and collaboration opportunities between the U.S. and the U.K. arising from the industry’s continued global expansion.

Key discussion points will include:

  • Commercial opportunities for U.K. firms in upcoming mega sporting events hosted in the U.S.
  • Emerging trends in sports technology and their transatlantic business potential
  • How sports can be leveraged as a platform for broader business and cultural exchange
  • Projections for the sports industry over the next 5–10 years, including anticipated challenges and areas for growth

The panel will be moderated by Tom Glick, President of Rockledge Sports Advisory. Fellow panelists include Mitch Heath, Co-Founder of Teamworks; Will Pitts, CEO, and Danny Morrison, Executive Advisor of Charlotte Sports Foundation; and Adam Sperling, Executive Director of Truist Championship.
