LaBella proudly congratulates Branson Mauck, CE, PWS, PWD, for obtaining his Professional Wetland Delineator (PWD) Certification from the Virginia Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation!

With over ten years of experience in environmental consulting, Branson serves as an Environmental Manager in our Richmond, Virginia office. His expertise includes wetland delineations, stream and wetland mitigation bank monitoring, wetland and stream assessments, Section 401/404 regulatory permitting, Section 7 consultations, National Environmental Policy Act documentation, and environmental compliance on construction sites. Recently, Branson has led numerous environmental projects for renewable energy clients, chemical engineering firms, and private developers across Virginia, Maryland, Texas, and Washington.

Earning the PWD certification demonstrates Branson’s dedication, expertise, and leadership in the industry. This credential is now a requirement for securing “fast-tracked” reviews from the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (VDEQ) and receiving a State Surface Water Determination (SSWD). The VDEQ may also confirm wetland delineations signed by a PWD, further expediting the regulatory process. A Jurisdictional Determination (JD), typically issued in 6-18 months by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) or VDEQ, can now be obtained in as little as 30 days with a PWD signature, streamlining project timelines.

As a trusted Wetland Scientist and Ecologist among USACE and VDEQ representatives, this certification further strengthens Branson’s professional relationships and standing within the industry.

“Branson’s expertise and experience have been a valuable asset in our growing southeast territory for not only the Environmental division but for LaBella as a firm. His knowledge extends well outside of the ecological world. He understands all the aspects and moving parts of the land development industry. Since joining LaBella a little over a year ago, Branson has demonstrated his technical expertise, project management leadership, and mentoring/training junior staff. We are lucky to have Branson on our growing team! Congrats again, Branson, well deserved!” – Kaelyn Davis, PWS | Southeast Environmental Regional Manager

Congratulations on this outstanding achievement, Branson!
