LaBella Presenting at SWANA’s Region 4 Joint Regional Conference

 

LaBella’s Sustainability Manager Crystal Stapley and Operations Consultant Jeffrey Blevins will be sharing their expertise at the Solid Waste Association of North America’s (SWANA) Region 4 Joint Regional Conference, Taking place April 29-May 1, 2025 in Biloxi, Mississippi, this year’s event brings together SWANA’s Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, and Mississippi Chapters.

On Thursday, May 1 at 10:30 a.m., Jeffrey Blevins will present “Optimizing Operations,” which will explore key aspects of daily landfill, transfer station, and MRF operations. Designed for Managers and Directors, the session will highlight often-overlooked areas such as operator training, traffic control, facility preparedness, safety, end-of-day procedures, daily cover, and leachate system maintenance.

Later that morning, at 11:00 a.m., Crystal Stapley will present “Operator-Powered Progress, From Collaboration to Transformation.” This session will examine how empowering frontline workers through collaboration fosters connection, professional growth, and a deeper sense of value and contribution. Teaching the “why” behind their work builds more than just skills—it cultivates pride, purpose, and momentum. Through demonstrational teaching and collaborative leadership, empowered teams become more engaged, driving growth for companies, customers, and the industry as a whole.
