LaBella’s Architectural Regional Manager, Jeffrey Kloetzer, AIA, and Senior Interior Designer, Danielle Lewis, CID, ALEP, IIDA, WELL AP, will be presenting at the Northeast 2025 Annual Regional Conference of the Association for Learning Environments (A4LE), taking place May 6-8, 2025, in Annapolis, Maryland.
Founded over a century ago, A4LE is an interdisciplinary non-profit dedicated to shaping innovative, inclusive, and student-centered learning environments. With a mission to strengthen learning through the power of place, A4LE brings together planners, designers, educators, and builders to collaborate at the intersection of education and the built environment.
On Wednesday, May 7th, at 2:45 p.m., Jeffrey and Danielle will present “STEAM Powered Progress—Revitalizing Learning and the Central High School” alongside Dr. Jody Francis Manning, MBA, Ed.D., Executive Director of the Syracuse City School District.
The presentation will highlight the innovative transformation of the former Central High School into New York State’s first regional STEAM-focused high school. Presenters will discuss how the Syracuse City School District and the design team balanced the preservation of a historic landmark with the integration of forward-thinking programming that connects students to real-world opportunities.
The session will also explore how design supports interdisciplinary, hands-on learning; how community and industry needs shaped the curriculum; and how the team navigated the challenges of implementing a modern educational model within a historically sensitive setting.
