  • Feb 2-4 | New York State Conference of Mayors and Municipal Officials (NYCOM) – Winter Legislative Meeting | Albany, NY
  • Feb 3-5 | New York Water Environment Association (NYWEA) – 2025 Annual Meeting | New York, NY
  • Feb 5 | Saratoga County Department of Planning and Economic Development – 2025 Saratoga County Planning and Zoning Conference | Saratoga Springs, NY
    • Feb 5 at 3:00 p.m. | Matthew Rogers will be presenting “Rethinking Regulations: Unlocking Opportunities for Affordable Housing” alongside fellow presenters Kai Lord-Farmer, Senior Planner for the Ulster County Planning Department, and Nicole Justice Green, Executive Director of the North Country Rural Development Coalition. This session will explore how local zoning and subdivision regulations can unintentionally hinder the development of affordable housing, as well as discuss procedures to revise those regulations to encourage a broader range of housing types and densities.
  • Feb 11 | Dutchess Community College – STEM Panel and Networking Event | Poughkeepsie, NY
    • Feb 11 at 12:30 p.m. | Nicholas Vamvas, EIT, will join a panel of STEM professionals to discuss their academic and career experiences and share advice for students interested in pursuing engineering after graduation. Other panelists include professionals from Nuvance Health, United Airlines, and Dutchess Community College. The event, which is part of the College’s Black History Month programming, is free and open to the public. Attendees will have a chance to meet and engage with the panelists afterward.

  • Feb 16-19 | New York Association of Towns (NYAOT) – 2025 Training School and Annual Meeting | New York, NY
    • Feb 17 at 10:30 a.m. | Rebecca Smith, GISP, will be presenting “Visualize, Manage, and Share Your Data for Enhanced Collaboration and Decision-Making: Leveraging ArcGIS Online.” This session will provide an overview of Esri’s online mapping platform, ArcGIS Online, and explore how applications like Field Maps, ArcGIS Experience Builder, ArcGIS Hub, and ArcGIS Dashboards can streamline workflows and enhance decision-making. Real-world examples will demonstrate how these tools can help improve organizational insights, communication, and workflow efficiency.
    • Feb 17 at 11:30 a.m. | Frank Filiciotto, PE, will be presenting “Speed Limit Reduction: How to Establish Safe Speeds in Your Community.” This presentation will review federal, state, and local guidance and best practices for enacting a new area-wide speed limit, conducting speed limit studies, covering data needs, analysis methods, and implementation steps, including signage requirements. It will also explore traffic calming measures that can complement speed limit reductions to create safer roads for all users.
    • Feb 18 at 10:00 a.m. | Norabelle Greenberger, AICP, will be presenting “Turning Plans into Action: Strategies for Effective Implementation,” which will discuss the importance of transforming comprehensive plans and other community-prepared plans into actionable strategies that drive tangible results. Real-world examples and case studies will highlight common challenges, successful implementation strategies, and best practices for turning plans into action.

    • Feb 24 at 5:00 p.m. | Cristian Petschen and Brad Bartholomew, AIA, LEED BD+C will participate in a panel titled “Beyond the Game: The Sports-Anchored Community of the Future,” which will discuss how next-generation sports districts are transforming fan engagement, driving economic impact, and year-round lifestyle hubs.
    • Feb 25 at 4:00 p.m. | Cristian Petschen will join a panel discussion titled “Foundations of the Future: Building Modern Stadiums,” which will explore key design considerations for modern stadiums, including strategies for accommodating future attendance growth.
