LaBella Honored to Receive an ACEC New York 2024 Engineering Excellence Award for the Cannon Covered Bridge Project!

This past weekend, the American Council of Engineering Companies of New York (ACEC New York) held their Annual Engineering Excellence Awards Gala where LaBella was awarded a 2024 Platinum Award in the Structural Systems category for the Cannon Covered Bridge project.

The Cannon Covered Bridge was the most context-sensitive design for the replacement of the historic-eligible, iron truss structure and the former Mosier Covered Timber Bridge at this location. The rural setting showcases the aesthetic beauty of the covered timber bridge and provides the opportunity for individuals to experience a covered timber bridge without traveling outside of the Western New York region.

The Engineering Excellence Awards honor design achievements of superior skill and ingenuity and the many significant contributions consulting engineers make to the built environment. Projects are judged on a rigorous set of criteria, including complexity, innovation, and value to society.
