Several members of LaBella’s Waste and Recycling team will be presenting at the 2024 Joint Solid Waste and Recycling Conference being held May 14-16, 2024, in Norfolk. Virginia. The conference is co-hosted by the Old Dominion Chapter of the Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) and the Virginia Recycling Association (VRA).

On Wednesday, May 15th at 10:30 a.m., Director of Waste and Recycling Jenny Johnson will be presenting “PFAS: CERCLA Impact on Passive Receivers.” Later the same day, join Environmental Director of Waste and Recycling John Westerfield, PG, at 1:45 p.m. for his presentation titled “Preliminary Results of PFAS and 1.4-Dioxane in Groundwater at North Carolina Landfills: A Preview of What Virginia Can Expect.”

On Thursday, May 16th at 9:45 a.m., Operations Consultant Jeffrey Blevins and Sustainability Manager Crystal Stapley will be presenting “Operation Challenges” as part of the conference’s Our People, Our Work: The Broader Issues in Solid Waste Management session.
