Jennifer Gillen to Present on Leveraging Brownfields for Affordable Housing at AWMA-CNY’s December Meeting

LaBella’s Director of Environmental Jennifer Gillen, PG, will be a featured speaker at the December Breakfast Meeting of the Air & Waste Management Association’s Central New York Chapter (AWMA-CNY). The meeting will take place virtually on Wednesday, December 17, 2025.

At 8:00 a.m., Jen will present “From Gaps to Groundbreakings: Leveraging Brownfields in Affordable Housing,” which will explore the unique challenges of advancing affordable housing projects through both the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation’s Brownfield Cleanup Program (BCP) and New York State Homes and Community Renewal (NYSHCR) funding programs.

Her presentation will also address how developers can coordinate overlapping funding milestones and environmental requirements—including cases where NYSHCR standards exceed those of the BCP—while leveraging BCP incentives to keep critical affordable housing projects viable and on schedule.
