LaBella Announces Multi-Modal Planning and Design Group

Addition of New Team Enhances Transportation Capabilities to Meet Growing Transit Design and Planning Needs

LaBella Associates, an international architecture, engineering, environmental, and planning firm, today announces it has formed a Multi-Modal Planning and Design Group that adds specialized expertise to the firm’s existing Transportation Team. Focused on transit and transportation solutions, the new group’s services include project assessment, planning, design, engineering, and implementation.

“Transportation planning is rapidly evolving as electric and sustainable technologies catalyze a deeper shift towards eco-friendly solutions,” said Brian Miller, Senior Vice President of Transportation, LaBella Associates. “As these transit modes continue to expand, engineering design guidance is in greater need than ever. Integrating our transportation and energy disciplines to serve this market is a real differentiator for LaBella.”

In addition to innovative designs that safely and efficiently move people from place to place, the Multi-Modal Planning and Design Group also focuses on seamlessly blending projects into the physical surroundings in an environmentally friendly and sustainable manner. Such projects include complete streets, active transportation, pedestrian connections, safety assessments and studies, and public transportation like micromobility and bus rapid transit.

The Multi-Modal Planning and Design Group is led by Douglas Teator, PE, (pictured at right) who joins LaBella with more than 18 years of experience. He and his team of 5 offer deep transportation engineering and planning expertise that will be invaluable in servicing a variety of clients, such as transit agencies, municipalities, and developers across the U.S. Their collective record of securing competitive funding from national programs like Small Starts, TAP/CMAQ, Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A), and RAISE will bring added value to our clients.
