
Members of LaBella’s Waste & Recycling team will be speaking at the Solid Waste Association of North America – Alabama Chapter’s Spring Seminar 2026. The event will take place March 30–April 1, 2026, in Orange Beach, Alabama.
On Monday, March 30, at 1:30 p.m. CST, Senior Project Geologist Robert Bailey, PG, will present “PFAS Impacts on NPDES Permits—What Landfill Operators Need to Know” alongside Lindsay Boone, M.Sc., PFAS Program Manager at Pace Analytical Services.
The session will provide an overview of:
- PFAS considerations in National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System permits, including evolving regulatory drivers under the Clean Water Act
- The role of the United States Environmental Protection Agency’s Method 1633A in monitoring requirements
- Best practices for landfill operators, with a focus on sampling and minimizing cross-contamination
On Tuesday, March 31, join Senior Technical Advisor Brent Watson at 10:30 a.m. CST for his presentation, “Dealing With Lithium Batteries,” which will explore lithium battery types and applications, as well as the hazards they pose to solid waste and recycling management systems.
