  • Sept 17 at 11:00 a.m. | Norabelle Greenberger, AICP, will be joining a panel titled “Tackling the Unique Challenges of Brownfield Redevelopment in Upstate New York.” The discussion will examine environmental barriers to redevelopment and highlight the importance of layered funding strategies, as well as tools like land banks and local development corporations in bringing neglected brownfield sites back to productive use.
  • Sept 18 at 11:00 a.m. | Dawn Crowell will be joining a PFAS Roundtable panel, alongside experts from Eurofins Environment Testing, Manko Gold Katcher Fox LLP, Weston and Sampson, Pace Analytical Labs, BSTI, and Ice Miller. The session will explore critical issues surrounding PFAS, including contamination management, regulatory challenges, and remediation strategies. With key changes to the State Freshwater Wetlands Law taking effect on January 1, 2025, the presentation will explain NYSDEC’s new procedures for determining jurisdiction and how these updates may impact development projects statewide.

The film will explore the Erie Canal’s 200-year legacy and its enduring impact on New York State and beyond, highlighting its role as an economic catalyst, a source of artistic inspiration, and a symbol of environmental resilience and revitalization.
  • Sept 24 at 3:30 p.m. | Michael Cocquyt, MBA, CPRP, will be presenting “Historic Downtown Revitalization Through Canal Connectivity.” Drawing from real-world examples along the Erie Canal, he will discuss how NYS Canals funding has been used to enhance recreational infrastructure and build momentum for large-scale revitalization.
