LaBella’s Environmental Impact Group Program Manager, Frances Kabat, JD, will present “Important NYS SEQRA Changes—What Communities Need to Know” at two upcoming 2026 Planning and Zoning Schools hosted by the New York Association of Towns.

  • October 1 in Lake George, New York
  • October 22 in Fairport, New York

The 2026 State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA) updates introduce changes to the environmental review process, including an increased focus on environmental justice and climate-related impacts, as well as the establishment of new Type II actions and exemptions. Collectively, these reforms are intended to strengthen environmental protections while eliminating SEQR process requirements for qualifying developments.

Frances will help attendees understand the revisions and consider how they may affect environmental review requirements and development in their communities.
