LaBella’s Gas Design Team Leader Jack Mudge, PPD I, and Senior Gas Designer Stephen Blake will be speaking at the University of New Hampshire’s Civil and Environmental Engineering Alumni Conference on October 23, 2025, in Durham, New Hampshire.
At 1:40 p.m., Jack and Stephen will present “Client Driven Innovation in the Natural Gas Industry—How Client Needs Drive Step-by-Step Innovation.” The session will spotlight the Asset Information Model (AIM), a groundbreaking solution for documenting legacy field assets under highly restrictive conditions in the natural gas utility sector.
Leveraging tools such as 3D scanning, AutoCAD Plant 3D, and Bluebeam, AIM combines BIM-level detail with the simplicity of a PDF to deliver an interactive, editable, and user-friendly 3D model. The presentation will explore its design-thinking approach, technical challenges, and potential applications across infrastructure and environmental services.
