Matthew Rogers to Present at the 2025 Saratoga County Planning and Zoning Conference
LaBella’s Senior Planner Matthew Rogers will be presenting at the 2025 Saratoga County Planning and Zoning Conference being held by the Saratoga County Department of Planning and Economic Development on February 5, 2025, in Saratoga Springs, New York.
On Wednesday, February 5th, at 3:00 p.m., Matthew will be presenting “Rethinking Regulations: Unlocking Opportunities for Affordable Housing” alongside fellow presenters Kai Lord-Farmer, Senior Planner for the Ulster County Planning Department, and Nicole Justice Green, Executive Director of the North Country Rural Development Coalition.
This presentation will examine how local zoning and subdivision regulations can unintentionally hinder the development of affordable housing. It will also discuss procedures to revise these regulations to promote a broader range of housing types and densities. The overarching goal is to illustrate how rethinking regulatory approaches can open new pathways for expanding the supply of quality, affordable housing in our communities. The session will provide practical insights and actionable strategies to help achieve this vital goal.
