Shelby Sova Joining CREW Rochester’s Panel Discussion on SEQRA, Wetlands, and Zoning

 

LaBella’s Environmental Permitting and Compliance Manager Shelby Sova, PWS, will participate in an upcoming panel discussion hosted by Commercial Real Estate for Women (CREW) Rochester in Victor, New York.

On Thursday, April 30, 2026, at 8:30 a.m., Shelby will join fellow panelists Laura Smith of Nixon Peabody LLP and Betsy Brugg of Woods Oviatt Gilman LLP for a session titled “Where Environment Meets Development: SEQRA, Wetlands, and Zoning.”

The discussion will examine how environmental regulations and local land-use policies intersect to shape development projects across New York State, focusing on the State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA), updated New York State Department of Environmental Conservation wetland regulations, municipal zoning, and their roles in guiding responsible growth and environmental stewardship.

Attendees will gain practical insight into New York State’s regulatory processes, permitting considerations, and strategies for navigating overlapping requirements to advance sustainable development.
