Shelby Sova to Present on New Wetlands Regulations at NYAOT’s 2025 Planning and Zoning School in East Aurora, NY

 

Shelby Sova, PWS, LaBella’s Environmental Permitting and Compliance Manager, will be a featured speaker at the New York Association of Towns’ (NYAOT) 2025 Planning and Zoning School, taking place on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, in East Aurora, New York.

Join Shelby at 9:10 a.m. for her presentation, “New York’s New Freshwater Regulations—Wetlands and Wetlands of Unusual Importance,” which will cover the first major updates to the State Freshwater Wetlands Law in over four decades, now in effect as of January 1, 2025.

Shelby will provide an overview of the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation’s updated procedures for determining wetland jurisdiction and discuss the potential implications for development projects across the state.

Founded in 1933, NYAOT supports town governments throughout New York by advocating for their interests at the state and federal levels and providing education, training, and resources to local officials.
