Aiken Technical College – Nursing Education Center

Designed for Hands-On Learning, Built for Nursing Success

Designed as a hub for hands-on learning and collaboration, the new Nursing Education Center at Aiken Technical College will elevate nursing education through thoughtfully planned, state-of-the-art instructional and training environments.

At the core of the facility will be six advanced simulation suites that replicate real-world healthcare settings, including Obstetrics High-Fidelity, Pediatric Infant High-Fidelity, Pediatric Junior High-Fidelity, Medical/Surgical, and Med Pyxis simulation areas, along with the essential control and support spaces that make these experiences possible. Dedicated debriefing rooms and meeting spaces will allow students and faculty to reflect, collaborate, and translate simulation experiences into real-world clinical knowledge.

The building will also feature skills labs equipped with nursing stations, staging areas, active-learning classrooms, and storage. Virtual anatomy and computer labs will further enhance the curriculum, while study rooms and student breakout spaces provide welcoming environments for both focused learning and peer connection.

In addition to student-centered learning environments, the project includes a President’s Suite with a reception area, offices, a conference room, a workroom, a kitchenette, and storage. A Faculty and Dean’s Suite provide offices, conference space, and related support areas, ensuring seamless academic leadership and operational efficiency.

LaBella is providing comprehensive services from initial planning and design through construction documents, interior design, and construction administration.

The new Nursing Education Center will be a cohesive, forward-thinking facility that aligns with Aiken Technical College’s strategic goal to invest in infrastructure and technology that enhance nursing student success and operational efficiency.
