On Thursday, April 18th, LaBella was honored to attend the groundbreaking ceremony for Tiger Stadium, Rochester Institute of Technology’s new state-of-the-art outdoor athletic complex.
The forthcoming $30 million Tiger Stadium project replaces a 50-year-old structure and is the final component of an ongoing athletics facility upgrade project at the university that LaBella has been working on with RIT since 2020. Tiger Stadium is approximately 40,000 square feet with a seating capacity of 1,180. The facility is home to men’s and women’s soccer and lacrosse, and will house team locker rooms, a training room, a media suite, concessions, a hospitality suite with panoramic views of the playing field, and an outdoor concourse.
Previous components of this multi-phase project included upgraded turf fields for baseball and softball, a new track complex, and a turf field for soccer and lacrosse. This modern facility with increased seating capacity will allow RIT to put bids in to host NCAA tournaments in the future.
LaBella is proud to be the local architect of record on this project, collaborating closely with stadium design specialists at Populous. Pike Construction Services is the construction management company on the project, and construction is scheduled for completion in fall 2025.
We look forward to keeping you updated on construction progress at RIT and can’t wait to cheer on the Tigers in their new stadium in 2025!
