Shelby Sova to Present on NYSDEC Wetland Regulations at Hanna Commercial Real Estate’s Monthly Meeting
On Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at 10 a.m., LaBella’s Environmental Permitting & Compliance Manager Shelby Sova, PWS, will be speaking at Hanna Commercial Real Estate’s Monthly Meeting in Buffalo, New York. Her presentation, “NYSDEC New Wetland Regulations,” will highlight the first major updates to New York State’s freshwater wetlands regulations since the 1980s. Following amendments passed in 2022, key changes to the State Freshwater Wetlands Law took effect on January 1, 2025. Shelby will explain the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation’s (NYSDEC) updated procedures for determining wetland jurisdiction and how the revised regulations may impact development projects across the state.
