Shelby Sova to Present on New Wetlands Regulations at the NYSCAR WNY Chapter’s Monthly Meeting

 

On Thursday, September 18, 2025, at 8:30 a.m., LaBella’s Environmental Permitting & Compliance Manager Shelby Sova, PWS, will be speaking at the monthly meeting of the Western New York Chapter of the New York State Commercial Association of REALTORS® (NYSCAR) in Amherst, New York.

Her presentation, “New York’s New Freshwater Regulations—Wetlands and Wetlands of Unusual Importance,” will highlight the first major updates to the state’s freshwater wetlands regulations since the 1980s. With key changes to the State Freshwater Wetlands Law taking effect on January 1, 2025, Shelby will outline the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation’s updated procedures for determining wetland jurisdiction and explain how these revised regulations may impact development projects across the state.

Founded in 1995, NYSCAR is a statewide board dedicated exclusively to commercial real estate, offering professional education, networking opportunities, and property marketing forums through its regional chapters across New York. The Western New York Chapter serves Allegany, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Erie, Genesee, Niagara, Wyoming, and western Orleans counties.
