LaBella Presenting at the 6th International Conference of the Athens Women’s Football Summit in Greece!

LaBella’s Global Practice Leader—Sports, Entertainment, and Public Venues Cristian Petschen and National Design Director Brad Bartholomew, AIA, LEED BD+C, will share their expertise at the 6th International Conference of the Athens Women’s Football Summit (AthensWFS), taking place October 2-3, 2025, in Athens, Greece. With bases in Athens and New York City and a worldwide network of members and partners, AthensWFS unites the women’s football industry worldwide, advancing equality in the sport and driving positive social change.

On Thursday, October 2nd, at 10:00 a.m., Cristian and Brad will present “Building for Success: From Athlete Experience to Sports Districts in Women’s Football.” This session will explore how purpose-driven design can unlock success in women’s football by shaping the built environment at three interconnected scales: micro, meso, and macro.

At the micro level, Cristian and Brad will focus on athlete and fan experiences, highlighting spaces designed for the unique needs of female players and inclusive environments that welcome diverse audiences. At the meso level, they will examine purpose-built training centers and stadiums that prioritize equity, sustainability, and commercial innovation while serving as cultural hubs. At the macro level, their session will address sports districts that integrate sport with retail, hospitality, and public life, celebrating women’s values of community, inclusivity, and empowerment.

Together, this tiered approach demonstrates how thoughtful design—from locker rooms to entire neighborhoods—can foster both successful teams and thriving communities.
