UDig NY recently honored two LaBella employees at the 2025 Damage Prevention Conference & Expo in Syracuse, New York. Gary Aber, Regional Construction Services Leader, and Micky Amato, Construction Services Project Administrator, were named 2025 Damage Prevention Council Members of the Year!

UDig NY promotes safe digging by providing tools to place and manage dig location requests throughout Upstate New York. Associated with UDig NY, Damage Prevention Councils (DPCs) serve as regional forums where utility and excavation industry members, along with other stakeholders, can engage and address key concerns, particularly excavation safety and the importance of contacting UDig NY before digging.

The Damage Prevention Council Member of the Year Award honors a distinguished DPC member who consistently demonstrates excellence and dedication in the field of damage prevention, strengthens their regional DPC, and serves as a model of leadership and commitment to UDig NY across New York State.
