Village of Attica Breaks Ground on Water Treatment Plant Improvements

On June 3, 2026, the Village of Attica, New York, with support from LaBella Associates and partners, broke ground on the Water Treatment Plant Improvements Project.

The Village of Attica owns and operates a water treatment plant designed to produce 1.5 million gallons of treated water per day. The existing facility faced ongoing challenges meeting federal drinking water standards, including requirements related to organic carbon removal and disinfection byproducts.

The project will modernize treatment processes and ensure long-term compliance with National Primary Drinking Water Regulations and related surface water treatment rules. Once complete, the improvements will provide 5,500 residents and users across the Village of Attica, the Village of Alexander, and major institutional partners including nearby correctional facilities with safe, reliable drinking water.

LaBella is the lead design engineer on the project, with support from consultants and contractors including H & K Services, Inc., Gerwitz & McNeil Electric, Inc., Michael A. Ferrauilo Plumbing & Heating, Inc., MKS Plumbing Corporation, and Lu Engineers. LaBella also assisted with submitting successful funding applications on behalf of the client.
