LaBella Associates Acquires Tisdel Associates
Acquisition strengths multidisciplinary engineering capabilities as LaBella invests in continued growth across Potsdam and the greater North Country region.
LaBella Associates, an international architecture, engineering, environmental, and planning firm, today announced the acquisition of Tisdel Associates, a long-standing North Country consulting engineering firm with more than 50 years of experience supporting municipal, educational, healthcare, industrial, and commercial clients throughout the region.
The acquisition strengthens LaBella’s presence across New York State while expanding its technical expertise and local resources in Potsdam, Canton, Massena, Ogdensburg and surrounding North Country communities. The Tisdel team will join LaBella and continue serving clients throughout the region as the firm prepares to relocate into a new, larger Potsdam office to support continued growth.
Established in 1969, with roots dating back to 1963, Tisdel Associates has built its reputation on trusted client relationships, technical expertise, and a commitment to improving the communities it serves. The firm provides civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection engineering services for K-12 schools, municipalities, healthcare organizations, industrial facilities, and commercial clients.

The acquisition comes amid significant momentum for LaBella across the region, where the firm continues to support a growing portfolio of projects tied to housing, downtown revitalization, education, healthcare, infrastructure, and community development.
In Potsdam, recent and ongoing projects include the Village of Potsdam Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI) improvements, the redevelopment of Congdon Hall into senior housing, the North Country Children’s Museum, SUNY Potsdam renovation projects, and infrastructure improvements such as Brooks Street reconstruction.
