
On Wednesday, July 29, members of Western New York’s real estate and construction industries gathered to celebrate innovation, transformation, and excellence at Buffalo Business First’s 23rd Annual Brick x Brick Awards.
The annual awards recognize the region’s most impactful development projects, with finalists selected through nominations from industry peers and evaluated by a panel of distinguished judges.
LaBella is proud to have served as lead architect and engineer on three projects recognized among this year’s finalists, each reflecting the vision, collaboration, and dedication of our clients, partners, and project teams.
LaBella’s 2026 Brick x Brick Award Honorees:
Buffalo Fire Department Engine 25/Ladder 10/B-46 – Winner, Municipal Services Category
A $10.6 million replacement firehouse that enhances emergency response capabilities while prioritizing firefighter health, safety, and wellness. The modern facility features an expanded apparatus bay with high-performance bi-fold doors, thoughtfully designed living and training spaces, and architecture that honors the character of the South Buffalo community.

IMA Life North America SUNY Niagara Law Enforcement Academy – Honorable Mention, Manufacturing & Logistics Category
The first phase of IMA Life North America’s new $27.6 million manufacturing facility and headquarters includes 40,000 square feet of office, warehouse, and production space. The project supports the company’s continued investment in Western New York, creating new jobs and laying the foundation for future expansion.

Salamanca City School District Athletic Renovation – Finalist, K-12 (Large) Category
A $16.4 million athletic complex that provides students and the community with modern fields, courts, a full running track, and grandstands. The project also features Western New York’s first post-tension tennis court and a renovated concession building with a new viewing mezzanine.
