Jamie Konkoski to Present on Workforce Housing Zoning at 2026 Forward Together Conference
Jamie Konkoski, AICP, Senior Planner at LaBella, will speak at the 2026 Annual Forward Together Conference, hosted by the Lake Champlain-Lake George Regional Planning Board (LCLGRPB). Taking place Thursday, October 1, in Schroon Lake, New York, the conference will cover a range of topics affecting New York’s North Country.
According to a regional housing study from the LCLGRPB, the North Country needs at least 7,500 new housing units over the next decade to support its growing workforce. Yet many local zoning codes make it challenging to build anything other than single-family homes on large lots.
To help communities address these barriers, Jamie will present “Building Balanced Communities for the North Country: Workforce Housing Zoning Guide” at 10:30 a.m.
The session will introduce the Workforce Housing Zoning Guide, a new resource developed for the LCLGRPB to help North Country municipalities identify and remove zoning barriers to workforce housing. Whether updating existing zoning regulations or adopting zoning for the first time, attendees will learn how to use the guide’s audit checklists, model zoning language, and Adirondack Park Agency FAQs to encourage a wider range of housing types, from accessory dwelling units and duplexes to small multifamily buildings.
