LaBella’s Sustainability Manager, Crystal Stapley, will be speaking at Waste360’s WasteExpo conference being held May 5-8, 2025, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

WasteExpo is North America’s largest solid waste, recycling, organics, food waste, recovery, and sustainability tradeshow serving both the public and private sectors. The event provides opportunities to connect with waste and recycling professionals, industry experts, and leading solution providers; explore the latest technologies; and attend educational sessions focused on advancing environmental improvement.

Join Crystal on Tuesday, May 6, at 8:30 a.m. for her presentation “Going Green for Green: Profit Through Diversion Practices,” which will highlight how effective waste diversion strategies can generate new revenue streams, optimize landfill airspace, and enhance sustainability without significant financial or operational disruptions. The session will also address common industry barriers such as safety concerns, staffing challenges, and inefficient processes, offering practical solutions to overcome infrastructure and technology gaps.

Following this, at 10:30 a.m., Crystal will join a panel discussion titled “Disaster Debris Management: Preparing for the Inevitable,” which will highlight the critical need for disaster debris management planning, covering key topics like debris assessment, resource coordination, regulatory compliance, and monitoring to help municipalities prepare effectively for future emergencies. Fellow panelists include Brian Usher, Solid Waste Director, Sarasota County Solid Waste Department; Josh Jimerfield, Director, West Coast – Post Disaster Recovery, Tetra Tech; and Leslie Lukacs, Executive Director, Zero Waste Sonoma.
