Frances Kabat to Present on 2026 SEQRA Updates at the New York Association of Towns’ Planning and Zoning School

 

LaBella’s Environmental Impact Group Program Manager, Frances Kabat, JD, will be presenting next week at the 2026 Planning and Zoning School hosted by the New York Association of Towns in Celoron, New York.

On Tuesday, August 11, at 11:10 a.m., Frances will present “Important NYS SEQRA Changes—What Communities Need to Know.” New York State’s 2026 updates to the State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA) introduce significant changes to the environmental review process, including a stronger focus on environmental justice and climate-related impacts, as well as the establishment of new Type II actions and exemptions.

During her presentation, Frances will break down the 2026 SEQRA revisions and discuss what these updates could mean for environmental review requirements and development across New York State.
