Congratulations to Julie Polak, PE, on earning her Professional Engineer (PE) license!

Julie joined LaBella in 2026 as a Senior Transportation Engineer, bringing more than 15 years of experience in traffic engineering across the United States and France. She holds a Master of Science in Civil Engineering and Urban Planning from the National Institute of Applied Sciences (INSA) in Lyon, France.

Throughout her career, Julie has developed extensive expertise in transportation impact studies, traffic simulation modeling, transportation-related environmental studies, safety analyses, and multimodal streetscape and intersection design. Her experience includes supporting and leading transportation projects for major agencies across the country, including the New York City Department of Transportation (NYC DOT), Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT), Los Angeles Department of Transportation (LADOT), and Bay Area Toll Authority (BATA).

Since joining LaBella, Julie has contributed to several multidisciplinary transportation initiatives, including the Erie Street Greenway project in Buffalo, New York, where she is supporting traffic analysis efforts to help improve pedestrian and bicycle connectivity and enhance the surrounding streetscape. She is also leading traffic analysis for the proposed Albany Bus Terminal in Albany, New York, evaluating traffic operations and the potential impacts of rerouting bus services to the new facility.

“Julie has already made a positive impact in the short time she has been at LaBella, bringing a combination of NYC and Bay Area experience to our growing Traffic Engineering and Transportation Planning practice. Obtaining her PE license adds further credibility and prestige to our group of professionals. Congratulations again, Julie. It’s well deserved.” – Frank Filiciotto, PE, PTOE, Principal Traffic Engineer

We’re proud to celebrate this accomplishment with Julie and look forward to her continued contributions to our team and the communities we serve.

Congratulations, Julie!
