LaBella Presenting at the New York Water Environment Association’s 44th Annual Greater Buffalo Environmental Conference

LaBella’s Civil Engineer Jacob Bower, PE, and Senior Civil Engineer Jason Ebbs, PE, will be speaking at the 44th Annual Greater Buffalo Environmental Conference on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, in Buffalo, New York. Hosted by the New York Water Environment Association, the all-day event brings together wastewater professionals from across the region to explore emerging technologies, learn about local projects, and discuss industry challenges.

Join Jacob and Jason at 1:30 p.m. for their presentation “Unique Sewer Design Strategies for Lakefront Systems,” which will provide a comprehensive case study of a large-scale, low-pressure sanitary sewer system designed for the Town of Kendall, New York. The session will cover the project’s planning, design, permitting, funding, and public coordination efforts.

The project replaced failing septic systems in a rural area with environmental constraints, variable soils, and shallow bedrock. Its scope included nearly 300 grinder pumps; extensive low‑pressure, force main, and gravity sewer infrastructure; multi‑agency permitting; and individual property easements. Designed and funded during the COVID‑19 pandemic, the project required multiple funding sources and a five‑year effort from preliminary engineering through bidding.
