Luis Mauro Murillo, AIA, Earns Texas Architecture License!

We are pleased to announce that Architectural Designer Luis Mauro Murillo, AIA, has earned his architecture license in Texas. Please join us in congratulating him on this career milestone!

Luis has 10 years of experience spanning commercial, civic, and community-centered projects. Prior to LaBella, his work focused on affordable housing, public interest design, and historic preservation across South Texas, with an emphasis on creating spaces that are inclusive, impactful, and rooted in local culture.

Since joining LaBella’s Syracuse, New York, office in September 2025, Luis has worked on a range of residential, educational, and commercial projects throughout New York State, including single-family housing and school renovations in Syracuse and a utility thermal energy network pump house in Buffalo.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in architecture from Texas Tech University and a master’s degree in architecture from Boston Architectural College.

“Luis joined LaBella about seven months ago, relocating himself and his family from all the way down in McAllen, Texas, to Syracuse, New York. With an aptitude for all aspects of this architectural profession, he hit the ground running in Syracuse. Luis has a well-rounded skill set and a great attitude, playing an integral role on each of the projects with which he has been involved, including a single-family residence, a funeral home, an energy center, and a high school. Luis is well on his way to becoming an excellent architect, and we are excited to be able to contribute to, support, and watch his growth here at LaBella. Congratulations from all of us!” – David Colegrove, AIA, NCARB, Senior Project Manager

Congratulations, Luis!
