LaBella’s Civil Regional Business Leader Michael Simon, CPESC, CPMSM, and Senior Environmental Engineer Jared Pristach, PE, WEDG, will be featured speakers at the Ontario-Wayne Stormwater Coalition’s 2026 Stormwater Conference. The event will take place on Wednesday, November 4, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in Canandaigua, New York.

“Overview of Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP)”
Drawing on the 2024 NYSDEC Stormwater Management Design Manual and SPDES General Permit for Stormwater Discharges from Construction Activities (GP-0-25-001), Michael will highlight key considerations for reviewing SWPPPs submitted to municipalities during the MS4 authorization process. He will also provide an overview of what to look for when evaluating commonly used stormwater management practices.

“Climate Adaptation in the Finger Lakes”
This presentation will examine how aging infrastructure and a changing climate affect the way communities respond to flooding, extreme heat, shifting precipitation patterns, and other climate hazards. Jared will discuss anticipated changes to climate hazards across the Finger Lakes region, highlighting case studies that demonstrate how nature-based solutions can help communities address these challenges while providing benefits beyond climate resilience.
