RIT Lowenthal Hall Addition Named Project of Distinction by Spaces4Learning

In June 2026, Spaces4Learning named the RIT Saunders College of Business Lowenthal Hall Addition the Project of Distinction for Higher Education New Construction in the 2026 Education Design Showcase.

The 38,000-square-foot building features cutting-edge teaching and learning spaces, spaces for innovative research, student lounges, an auditorium, a food venue, and state-of-the-art event and collaboration areas. The expansion provides approximately 80% more space for the Saunders College of Business.

LaBella provided architectural and interior design services; civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering services; and environmental services on the multi-million-dollar expansion and renovation of Max Lowenthal Hall.

The Education Design Showcase is an annual awards program that honors innovative solutions in planning, design, architecture, and construction across K–12 and higher education. The program’s goal is to share ideas and best practices to help schools of all grade levels achieve outstanding learning environments.
