On September 24, 2025, the Village of Menands, with support from LaBella Associates and partners, broke ground on the South End Neighborhood Water and Sanitary Sewer System Improvement Project. This undertaking focuses on strengthening community infrastructure by replacing the existing water and sewer systems.

Expected to be completed in Spring 2027, the project will replace approximately 12,500 linear feet of water main, which dates back 80-90 years, and approximately 10,000 linear feet of deteriorating sewer pipe. The new infrastructure will provide reliable and efficient water and sewer service to residents.

As the Village-designated engineer, LaBella is the lead design engineer on the project, with support from the contractor, New Castle Paving. LaBella also assisted with submitting successful funding applications on behalf of the client.

It is always an honor to support the Village of Menands, particularly on projects that bring communities safe, reliable drinking water and sewer collection.
