Jeff Fantell Moderating Panel at APWA-NC’s 2026 Solid Waste Division Annual Conference
LaBella’s Training Program Manager Jeff Fantell, PE, will participate in an upcoming panel discussion at the 2026 Solid Waste Division Annual Conference, hosted by the American Public Works Association North Carolina Chapter (APWA-NC) on July 27–29 in Cherokee, North Carolina.
On Tuesday, July 28, at 2:15 p.m., Jeff will moderate a session focused on the APWA Solid Waste Collections Operator Certificate Course, a specialized training program developed by LaBella on behalf of APWA-NC. The discussion will provide an overview of the certificate course, its development, and the value of certification for those on the front lines of solid waste collections. Jeff and the panelists will highlight how the course helps operators strengthen their knowledge and supports more effective, efficient, and safer solid waste collections.
Designed for new and experienced solid waste collections operators, supplemental operators from other departments, and contract operators, the course helps participants develop a foundational understanding of solid waste management and collection operations. Topics include public health and safety, workplace safety requirements, driving skills, customer service, and communication with fleet personnel.
