LaBella’s Michael Montgomery, AIA, will lead a walking tour of CarMax Park during ArchEx 2026, the annual conference of the American Institute of Architects Virginia Chapter. The tour will take place Friday, November 6, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., in Richmond, Virginia.
Participants will explore the new 10,000-seat Minor League Baseball stadium, which opened in April 2026 as the new home of the Richmond Flying Squirrels and the centerpiece of Richmond’s 67-acre Diamond District redevelopment. Designed for year-round use, the facility prioritizes fan comfort and flexibility, creating a venue that extends well beyond baseball season.
As the project’s architect, Michael will offer an inside look at CarMax Park‘s design and the operational considerations that contribute to its success. Participants will also hear from facility operations staff as they transition from a successful inaugural baseball season to preparations for WinterWorld, a 39-day holiday-themed event that transforms the ballpark during the offseason.
