Dutchess County Regional Well and Stream Gauging Program
Over Two Decades of Groundwater and Surface Water Monitoring Efforts
LaBella Associates has provided professional hydrogeological, water resource, and environmental consulting services to Dutchess County since 2001. This effort has involved the development of a regional groundwater and stream monitoring network, maintenance of the monitoring equipment, and data management and annual reporting of the hydrologic data.
The monitoring network involves data loggers installed in six wells, two infiltration gauges, and two stream gauges. This monitoring encompasses the entire county. Data is downloaded twice a year and analyzed to support inquiries related to climate and hydrological trends, development impacts, and planning implications. An annual county-wide groundwater and surface water monitoring report is prepared. In addition, LaBella provides technical assistance as requested regarding educational programs, water resource management, and protection initiatives.
