IMA Life North America New Manufacturing Facility
Expanding pharmaceutical equipment manufacturing production in Western New York
In partnership with Montante Construction, LaBella provided architectural and engineering services for IMA Life North America’s new 120,000-square-foot facility in Tonawanda, New York.
IMA Life North America is a manufacturer of pharmaceutical processing equipment, specializing in custom freeze-dryers, aseptic processing systems, and liquid/powder handling machinery.
Located on a 15-acre parcel, the facility includes 90,000 square feet of production space and 30,000 square feet of office space to support the company’s growing operations.
The initial $27.6 million plan for an 80,000-square-foot office and manufacturing facility evolved during construction to include a second phase, adding nearly 40,000 square feet of production area.
LaBella’s multidisciplinary team supported the project with architecture, interior design, and civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection engineering. LaBella also assisted with the site plan submission, relocation of a municipal sewer line, and a building code variance.
The final expansion nearly doubles the existing production space and supports job creation and economic growth in the region.
