Sampson State Park – Park Improvements

Infrastructure Upgrades Revitalize Lakeside State Park

Sampson State Park, formerly the site of a military training facility, opened in 1963 and has since evolved into a diverse landscape of successional growth and habitats. Located on the eastern shore of Seneca Lake in Romulus, New York, the park has experienced a dramatic increase in visitors in recent years, necessitating the need for investment in capital improvements to accommodate campground and lakefront guests.

Under our engineering services term agreement with the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation, LaBella provided design, bid, and construction services to support improvements at Sampson State Park. Key improvements to the park included the addition of a new RV dump station facility to serve the campground, reconstruction of the primary roadways into the campground area, and installation of a new monumental park entrance sign.
