College of Charleston – Berry Residence Hall & Honors College

A Phased Approach Brings Welcome Upgrades to Berry Hall

Berry Residence Hall at the College of Charleston in Charleston, South Carolina, is a six-story, 175,500-square-foot student residence hall that also houses the Honors College, along with meeting, dining, and related support spaces. Through a carefully planned, multi-phase approach, renovations are being made on all floors, maximizing the available budget while minimizing disruption to campus operations and student life.

LaBella is providing a full suite of services including project management, design, interiors, construction documents, and construction administration for the renovations, which support the College of Charleston’s goal of promoting on-campus living. The project also advances the College’s strategic plan by optimizing academic support and instructional spaces, encouraging interdisciplinary collaboration, and creating student-centered environments while enhancing the historic 18th-century campus.
