College of Charleston – Buist Rivers Residence Hall
Comfort, Safety, and Sustainability in Buist Rivers Hall
The Buist Rivers Residence Hall at the College of Charleston in Charleston, South Carolina, required modernization to bring comfort, safety, and sustainability to students. To determine which upgrades were needed, LaBella performed a feasibility study for the four-story hall, including renovations to student bedrooms, common bathrooms, kitchens, and study spaces, as well as building systems replacement and exterior envelope upgrades.
Following the feasibility study, LaBella provided design and construction documents for a full reconfiguration of the common bathrooms and support spaces within the building’s central core.
The project received three Green Globes® certifications from the Green Building Initiative for Sustainable Interiors!
