Fernando Sanchez

Spain Regional Director

Legendary Real Madrid player Alfredo Di Stéfano once said, “Ningún jugador es tan bueno como todos juntos,” which roughly translates to “No player is as good as the entire team together.” That idea reflects how I approach leadership. I believe the strongest results come from bringing together individual expertise within a culture of shared responsibility, integrity, and technical excellence.

Fernando brings more than 35 years of experience in the engineering and construction of electrical substations and hydropower plants. His career has included engineering design, construction supervision, commissioning, project management, and team leadership.

After joining LaBella in 2013, Fernando helped establish the firm’s Madrid office and build a multidisciplinary team dedicated to high-voltage substation and transmission line design. The team has since grown to approximately 60 professionals, and Fernando remains focused on developing its people by encouraging continuous learning and knowledge sharing while introducing new team members to LaBella’s values and culture.

Today, as Power Systems—Engineering Manager, Fernando leads LaBella’s Substation and Transmission & Distribution Engineering team, guiding project delivery, maintaining high technical standards, and supporting the team’s continued growth across international markets.

Fernando earned a degree in Industrial (Electrical) Engineering from the University of Comillas (ICAI) in Madrid. Outside of work, he enjoys photography and traveling the world.
